We went to Sweetwater to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. The facility & staff provided the setting & support for us to enjoy the romantic moments we wanted to share together. The romantic dinner for two was just that - the table setting on the holiday lit porch was perfect and the food exquisite. The personal attention, conversation and service by the chef added the appointments to provide the delights that a romantic dinner complete. The Lilly Cottage is such a captivating restoration of a vintage home - we stepped into a period piece that delivered a setting that elicited memories of our past and shared moments with the families of our youths. The stay in Lilly just added to the celebration of our married life together. We will return and enjoy the Sweetwater experience again - it is very much worth the stay.

The inn is walking distance to restaurants and shops as well as federal buildings if needed. The grounds are so adorable and the Victoria Cottage was absolutely darling! The jacuzzi tub was clean and comforting, the bed was lush, and the other amenities like the TV and furnished kitchen were wonderfully convenient. The breakfast was delicious with gluten free options and the breakfast dining area was so sweet. We will definitely be staying again!

Sweetwater Branch Inn was a perfect getaway for me and my husband to celebrate a landmark wedding anniversary. Private, peaceful and beautiful, the feeling of timelessness was healing and relaxing. Being part of the genteel past was a reminder to slow down and savor the quiet moments of life. Everyone we came into contact with, staff and other lodgers, were friendly and helpful and appeared to also be positively affected by the wonderful atmosphere of yesteryear. We are so grateful that a place like this still exists. Thank you to the wonderful family who worked so hard to make this place available to the public. What a treasure!

I stayed at the Sweetwater Inn for a wedding weekend. The buildings are cozy, have historical character, and are clean. Parking on site was easy, and the location is walkable to downtown Gainesville. The breakfast buffet was high quality and had plenty of options. I’d be happy to return for another stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Sweetwater Branch Inn in Gainesville, Florida. The rustic charm of the property is absolutely beautiful, and it’s easy to see why people choose this location for special events. The check-in and check-out process was completely seamless, and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The home-style breakfast was a lovely spread with plenty of options and added to the cozy, quaint atmosphere. We stayed in the Lily Cottage, and it was extremely comfortable. The bed was fluffy and supportive with great pillows and a quality mattress. The towels and washcloths were thick, soft, and felt very luxurious, small details that really make a difference. The location is also a huge plus. Being in downtown Gainesville made it easy to walk to nearby spots, and the space itself felt much more open and relaxing than a typical hotel room, especially for the same price point. Overall, it was a peaceful, comfortable, and enjoyable stay. We would absolutely return and highly recommend Sweetwater Branch Inn to anyone visiting the area.

I truly enjoyed my stay at the Inn. We stayed for four nights as our daughter was getting married on the property. Our cottage, Nora Belle’s was exquisite. The home was roomy and had an at home vibe. It had everything we needed. As soon as a need or concern arose the staff immediately provided the attention and an immediate solution. Cornelia herself came to make sure everything was good. The grounds are amazing and very well kept. There was very soft playing on the walkways. It was extremely cold out and the staff covered the plants around the grounds. As for the wedding, it was amazing. China was very attentive to my daughters needs and the event space was beautifully prepared as requested. The food was absolutely Devine. The chef is amazing. All the food including the morning breakfast and special blend coffee was delictable! I can’t wait to return just for the mere enjoyment of the Inn and the serenity I felt there.
